How we choose topics
We prioritize questions about exact models, version differences, cleaning access, placement and ventilation, ice production versus basket storage, and other details that affect purchase decisions. We use search research as a starting point, not as proof that a post will rank or earn commissions. Similar queries are grouped into a useful single page whenever they share the same intent.
Levels of evidence
Manufacturer-stated: Specifications, compatibility and performance figures provided by the maker. These are clearly attributed and aren’t described as our measurements.
Documented independent testing: When credible independent sources report tests, we may explain their findings with citations, but do not present them as experiments conducted by Nugget Ice Advisor.
Our own hands-on testing: We will only use this label if we personally obtain the exact unit, document the test method and conditions, and retain reproducible observations or original media. No currently published review is described as personally tested.
Unverified or conflicting: If product pages disagree on dimensions, model codes, color variations or availability, we identify the disagreement or withhold the comparison until resolved.
How we evaluate purchase suitability
We focus on whether the specific model fits the reader’s constraints. We separate advertised daily ice production from the amount stored at one time; automatic cleaning from manual descaling; and insulated ice baskets from an actual freezer. We do not manufacture ratings, lab results, sound measurements or ownership stories.
How we handle affiliate relationships
We may earn commissions from clearly disclosed affiliate links, but we do not treat a referral fee as evidence of product quality. We identify exact retailer model numbers and offers before linking. Prices and stock may change, so current retailer listings take precedence over old quotes.
Updates and corrections
Models get discontinued, listings switch ASINs and manufacturers revise documentation. Articles may be updated when new trustworthy information becomes available, with date labels and meaningful corrections where practical. We welcome verifiable corrections when a contact channel is established.
